How I Support Students at Falcon View

As an educator, my passion lies in addressing each student’s unique needs and fostering a love for reading through tailored instruction. I love working with my colleagues to meet the needs of students!

  • Bachelors of Science: Minnesota State University, Mankato in Elementary Education with a specialty in Communication Arts & Literature
  • K-12 Reading License, Saint Mary’s University Winona
  • Masters of Arts in Literacy Education: Saint Mary’s University, Winona

This is my second year with Falcon View & the Wabasha-Kellogg School District! I LOVE working with K-12 students to support their reading. Previously, I worked as a literacy specialist for the University of Minnesota’s Center for Applied Research and Educational Innovation and as a literacy content developer for NWEA creating reading professional learning for teachers. I will always be a classroom teacher at heart as I spent many years as a classroom teacher teaching ELA and reading to middle school students. One day I want to get my Ph.D. in cognitive sciences, linguistics, or speech pathology–I haven’t decided! I really enjoy learning.

I live in a suburb of Minneapolis with my husband and 3 young children. I love to spend time with my family, take photographs, ski, bike, read, and cook! My favorite hobby is traveling; I have been to China, France, Italy, Iceland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, and Colombia! One day I’d like to visit all 50 states and I only have 17 left!
